Summer Home Staging To Do List
5 Improvements to Put on Your Summer To Do List
Summer is almost here and its time to think about how that will impact the sale of your home during these warmer months. Remember, the first impression a buyer sees is the exterior of your home from the curb appeal right up to the front door and upon entry into a home. Have you added these 5 Summer Staging Tips on your To Do List?
1.) Sprinkler System – Good watering and lawn care by professionals will keep your front lawn looking green and thriving in the hot summer months. Make sure a working sprinkler system is in place and is programmed to water at automatic intervals. A well fertilized, weeded and trimmed yard can add value to a home when it comes to selling. Curb appeal is vitally important when it comes to staging a home and grabbing the buyers attention!
2.) Windows – Get an inspection done of your windows. It is possible separations in your sealants around the glass or around the frame itself may be evident. Seal them up with caulk or silicon to keep those pesky summer bugs out and a cool environment inside. Not only is this repair needed but will save you on utility expenses.
3.) Keep it Cool – Buyers walking into a home that feels like a sauna is a definite turn off and will send them running out the door. Stepping into a well air conditioned home is much more inviting. Be sure to keep AC’s and attic fans properly cleaned and serviced to help them run more efficiently during this hotter time of the year. Keep AC filters clean so as not to overwork the units which could lead to overheating and future damage that buyers aren’t interested in paying to repair or replace.
4.) Home Security – A vacant home listed for sale is especially attractive to intruders and unwanted vandalism. Summer is the ideal time of year to boost or add a home security system. Play it safe whether the home is occupied or not!
5.) Pressure Washing – Sweeping off dust, pollen, debris and cobwebs from the exterior of a home will not only add exterior appeal but protect the paint and siding from unnecessary wear and damage. Pressure washing is a must on the home staging to do list in order to quickly remove more stubborn dirt and expose any issues with paint that may need to be addressed.
