Fall Home Staging Tips

Fall Into Staging Tips To Sell Your Home
The fall season is upon us! The beautiful colors of foliage create a warm and inviting environment outdoors – an advantage to listing your home. It’s time to spruce up the exterior and bring warm autumn colors inside when staging your home for sale. Here are 7 Fall Home Staging Tips!
1.) Create cozy spaces. Place a throw on the sofa and a basket with magazines near a leather chair. A decorative bowl on the coffee table with pine cones is perfect when staging a living room. Also, set the thermostat to more comfortable temperatures.
2.) Add seasonal decor. A large bunch of tall sticks wrapped with twine is a great fall decor prop. Large baskets overflowing with warm colored throws emphasizes an inviting fireplace when placed nearby. A multi-colored wreath on the front door is perfect but don’t go overboard when staging your home.
3.) Brighten up. The days are getting shorter so make sure you have generous artificial light to supplement daylight. We suggest putting a timer on a few lamps throughout the home.
4. Flaunt your fireplace. When staging a home, a fireplace should always be a focal point. It is a great selling feature this time of year and should be highlighted with fall-friendly dried foliage. To make a fireplace more prominent place a large mirror or artwork piece above the mantel.
5.) Curb appeal. The leaves are changing colors but are falling on the ground. Break out the blower and keep your landscaping continuously looking organized. Take advantage of the pumpkin fundraising sale at your local church or school and feature a collection by the front door.
6.) Appeal to the senses. Nothing says fall like pleasing aromas of apples and cinnamon. We suggest making hot apple cider drinks with cinnamon sticks for potential buyers during an open house. A loaf of pumpkin spice bread warming in the oven – yum!
7.) Update your listing photos. Staging your home is key to a successful sale but make sure you update your online photos with brand new fall shots. Your pictures from the previous season will make your listing seem dated.
