Staging Small Spaces

Staging Strategies For Small Spaces!

When it comes to virtual staging homes that have unusually small living spaces, we get creative.  We make small spaces live large by implementing our unique Virtual Home Staging strategies.  From color to furniture placement, it’s amazing how a room can instantly appear larger by showing off its features and utility.  Here are 5 Staging Strategies to Make Small Spaces Appear Larger when staging your home.

1.) Lighten Up. Neutralize a living area by using white, cream or tan paint colors for walls. Using neutral colored walls, fabrics or slipcovers on furnishings will in turn make a room appear larger.  Bring the warmth and coziness into the room with colorful pillows and artwork.

2.) Keep It Simple. Using round tables with an open base and glass tabletops are perfect for small living rooms.  We don’t want to close off areas but make a potential buyers eyes roam endlessly.

3.) Define A Space. Living and dining room combination floorplans need to be defined.  Using an area rug can visually separate and define a space especially in dual purpose living areas – see pic above.  Buyers instantly can envision how to layout such an open space.

4.) Get Creative. Closets without doors in a loft or a nook for a stack washer/dryer can be distracting. Hang a pressure rod with drapery color that is the same as the wall color and a closet instantly disappears.  Buyers will focus on a rooms spaciousness instead of being distrupted with unusual spaces.

5.) Group Clutter. Some sellers have unique collections of pottery, plates, vases and wall hangings.  Choose a small grouping of “ like” collectable items when staging a room.  By strategically placing them on walls or shelving, such individual pieces are works of art and should be appreciated.
