Do It Yourself Decorating Ideas in 30 Minutes
Want to achieve a clean, uncluttered look in any room of your home? How about dressing up a blank wall down a hallway? Or create some fun in the kids play room? Decorating your home can be simple and shouldn’t be overwhelming. Here are 3 Easy DIY Decorating Ideas that take only 30 minutes – no decorator needed!
1.) Create your own art. Add some “wow” factor to that blank wall in your home. Start by purchasing several empty picture frames that coordinate with your rooms general decor. Be creative! Search for attractive scrapbook papers, pieces of decorative fabrics, vintage books of illustrations or colorful postcards. Cut art pieces out to size, place in frames and hang – how’s that for easy decorating!
2.) Add instant storage. Ottomans are easy storage solutions. They are ideal for holding blankets or magazines inside but double as extra seating or a coffee table. Plastic storage containers hold toys, crayons and books and can easily be stored underneath beds. Baskets are great decorating items and a good source of storage especially on bookshelves to hide clutter. Give your front entry a decorating makeover. Swap out your console table for a stylish dresser with drawers – instant storage!
3.) Lets have some fun decorating. Ever heard of chalkboard paint? It’s available in traditional black but also comes in crazy fun colors like blue and orange. Make sure to clean your wall space thoroughly, tape off areas that may get excess and apply your paint with a brush for small areas. Use a roller for larger walls. Let dry and use that wall just like a regular chalkboard with fun colored chalks. Don’t think this is just for kids – the big kids can use it as a productive space like a grocery list or school events to remember!
