Stress-Free Thanksgiving Home Decorating Ideas

Thanksgiving Holiday Decorating Ideas That Give Thanks

The holidays are just around the corner!  Who wants to be running around at the last minute and slaving in the kitchen on the big day?  Here are 6 Quick & Efficient Home Decorating Ideas For The Holidays to avoid becoming a control freak about it….

1.) Set the Table.  Go ahead and set the table at least one day ahead of time or the night before.  Avoid last minute surprises on Thanksgiving Day, like the table runner from last year has a stain on it or 10 people will be dining but only 8 wine glasses are accounted for in the cupboard.

2.) Decorate with Food.  Forgot last minute flowers for decorating the table?  Time to raid the fridge for instant flower arrangements by using hearty greens like leafy kale.  Fresh parsley, sage and thyme also hold up well in small vases and smell delicious!  Miniature pumpkins or gourds can be cut and hollowed out.  Simply place a candle inside and voila instant colorful votives!

3.) Consider the Potluck.  Keep it simple with no food going to waist or too many leftovers that will never get eaten.  The host should at least provide the main dish of turkey or preferred meat, salad and beverages.  Guests can bring their own holiday side dishes and of course yummy desserts.  This creates structure and sharing in this way is one thing to be thankful for!

4.) Make Big Batches of Drinks.  Who has time to play the bartender.  Prepare large amounts of beverages like apple cider, teas and fruity cocktails in pitchers or recycled jugs and place in fridge overnight.

5.) DIY Place Cards.  Gather up multicolored fall leaves of different shapes from outdoors and make quick place cards.  Take a gold or silver metallic paint pen and write names on them and place on each plate.   That takes a few minutes and done! Now thats called stress-free holiday decorating!

6.) Let Kids Make Dessert.  Have fun with the kids the night before and let them get messy making dessert!  Decorating cookies with candy corn or putting icing on cupcakes will keep them busy.  Because there are more important things to do, like cook the turkey! Gobble! Gobble!

What Our Clients Say

“The unfurnished townhome we had listed had been on the market for 4 months until we decided to engage in virtual staging.  I had the townhome professionally photographed and then had the photos virtually staged and they were so realistic.  We had a binding contract within 2 weeks after posting the virtual photos!”

ERIC BROOKS, Realtor | Wydler Brooks Real Estate – Virginia

“You all did a phenomenal job on these virtual staging photos!  Really, I can’t say enough how much I love them.  They are absolutely stunning and my clients are thrilled!”

SHEILA SALVITTI, Agent | Coldwell Banker Premier Properties – Pennsylvania

“We received 2 offers in less than a week and a half.  The property was listed with vacant photos for over 220 days on the market with no offers.  Many buyers passed on the house but after posting the virtual photos, they changed their minds and we definitely saw an increase in buyer traffic!”

TRISH BRADLEY, Agent | Rutledge Properties – Massachusettes

“I only post virtually staged photos by VSP for my vacant listings and it is an excellent service instead of having blank rooms for buyers to view online.”

MARTHA MAY, Realtor | Koenig & Strey – Illinois

“I was thrilled with our virtual photos cause we got an offer just 5 days after posting the photos online!”
