30 Minute Home Decorating Ideas

Easy Home Decorating Ideas That Take Just 30 Minutes!

Want to spice up the walls in your home?   How about adding some color in your living space?  Or have some fun! Get creative with your book collection.  Decorating, or in our case virtual staging, your home can be simple and shouldn’t be overwhelming.   Here are 3 Easy DIY Home Decorating Ideas that you can accomplish in just 30 Minutes!

1.) Use Plates as Art – Decorating walls in your living room, dining room or kitchen is easy. Display an arrangement of unique or decorative plates.  Hang a plate just like a picture frame by purchasing wire hangers. You can hang several in one straight line or make a collage with four or more.  Search your local thrift shops to find matching dishes for a traditional feel or mix different patterns for a unique look. STAGING TIP: This is an inexpensive way to acquire wall decor when staging your home on a budget!

2.) Add Area Rugs – Area rugs are an easy decorating item that always gives your home a polished look!  A rug can add color to a space or tone down a busy room by going with a neutral palette.  A rug placed in a large living area is perfect for anchoring major pieces of furniture like sofas and chairs.  Add a plush, soft rug in the bedroom underneath a portion of the bed.  Don’t think rugs are just for hardwood floors they can be stylish over wall-to-wall carpet!

3.) Group Decor Items – Group similar items like vases on a fireplace mantel by color for a fresh, contemporary look in your home or a collection of stars like in the staged living room photo above.  Make a collection of pillows at one end of a couch or arrange a grouping of picture frames on a dresser.  Get creative when decorating or virtual staging by grouping books and magazines by the color of the spine.  Organize by red, oranges and yellows and watch how you can create an instant rainbow on your bookshelves!

What Our Clients Say

“Our vacant property was listed for sale with no offers for over 90 days and after virtual staging of the photos took place, we instantly saw an increase in buyer traffic and got an offer in less than 4 weeks.  The buyers liked the photos which helped them with decorating ideas for the home.”

JEANNIE THOMPSON, Agent | Long & Foster – Virginia

“You all did a phenomenal job on these virtual staging photos!  Really, I can’t say enough how much I love them.  They are absolutely stunning and my clients are thrilled!”

SHEILA SALVITTI, Agent | Coldwell Banker Premier Properties – Pennsylvania

“The unfurnished townhome we had listed had been on the market for 4 months until we decided to engage in virtual staging.  I had the townhome professionally photographed and then had the photos virtually staged and they were so realistic.  We had a binding contract within 2 weeks after posting the virtual photos!”

ERIC BROOKS, Realtor | Wydler Brooks Real Estate – Virginia

“I only post virtually staged photos by VSP for my vacant listings and it is an excellent service instead of having blank rooms for buyers to view online.”

MARTHA MAY, Realtor | Koenig & Strey – Illinois

“Virtually Staging Properties offers a phenomenal service!  I have listings that have little to no furnishings and need to be brought to life and VSP does just that.  My clients love the product and my virtual photos get wonderful internet exposure.  I have sold every virtually staged home by VSP faster and will recommend the service to my Realtor colleagues.  Thank You!!”
